I'm happy to report that I've finished my cable edge tank. Just in time
too. I'd wanted it for my vacation, and I leave a week from tomorrow.
This was an important project for me for three reasons:
1. My first knit with cables, which was quite enjoyable. Gave me something
to look forward to every few rows, instead of miles and miles of knit,
knit, knit.
2. I successfully re-spaced the decreases to accomodate my row gauge. I
took a class at my LYS, Circles (www.circles-salon.com) where Alison, the
owner, very patiently took us through the thought process and the math
required for resizing patterns for different gauges.
3. This last reason is hard to explain, but I think this might be the first
time that I've really understood how the pattern was forming what I was
knitting, and that if I didn't like what the pattern was doing, I knew what
to do to fix. That's knitting power, in my opinion.
I don't look as good in my tank as Julia does (Wow! That's a stomach!!) but
I think I'll be happy walking down the streets of Prague in it.
