It's getting close now. We're finishing up construction projects around the store: the shelves are all in and trimmed, the crown moulding is up and the only painting left to do is touch up. It's starting to look like a store! Nancy was a gem and came down to lend a hand on Monday. She helped me unload all of those 24 boxes you saw in my last post and let me tell you, she was loving the Rowan.
Tomorrow Lolly McN-W will arrive to help me put yarn on shelves for the photo shoot on Friday. The neighborhood newspaper is running a story on CommuKNITy next week and we have to look our best. We still have a lot to do (stickering and inventorying all the yarn, once our database is set up) but it's getting so close we can almost taste it. We throw open the doors on April 29!

Meanwhile, I managed to finish my Goddess Tank from last spring's VK. I was planning to wear it on Friday, but it's a bit snugger than I want it to be for such an occasion. Maybe that Summer Tweed tank I made last year? I'm feeling like summer knitting now, especially since I haven't half a brain left at the end of the day and I haven't gotten around to recalculating the sleeve cap for Plum Frost yet. Plus I got sick. Thankfully the fever's gone and I just have a sore throat now. But it's going to be plain Jane stockingette for a bit. I cast on the Giotto tank from that same VK tonight. That should do the trick!
Wow, the store looks so nice! I'm excited for you.

Can't wait to see what you've done with the place.

Wow, I didn't know you are in San Jose. Your shop is 10 mins away from where I live!! WOW! Will you be setting up a website for your store? I don't mean like a store blog...just to list your hours, address, etc?

How exciting! If only I could come to see it on the 29th... but my boy will be in town and I'm not sure how excited he'd be about driving all the way down to your 'hood to see some yarn.

I'm glad you're feeling better! On Monday, would you please take me up on my offer of putting *me* to work while *you* take a rest? Please? :-)

Hooray for new yarn shops! Thanks for posting the opening date. I can't wait!

Soooo exciting! Are you going to have a grand opening on the 29th? I hope you get enough rest between now and then so you can recover from your illness. Of course, that may mean you have to put down the paint brush!

Hi Nathania,
What'll be the operating hours? I definitely want to stop in for a visit after work.

this is so exciting - i've got plans myself for something like this in London, but can't blog about it til I leave my current day job. Good luck with the launch! I have an idea of how much you must have to do in the next few days - congratulations on getting this far!
