Thank you for all the kind comments about the pattern submission. I'm still mulling over name choices. I'll let you know when I've decided.
Meanwhile, I'm preparing for my visit to Minnesota next week. We'll see my cousin Martha and her new baby girl. She's so new, in fact, that my stepmom hadn't even learned her name yet before she called to tell me the news. I found some adorable batik fabric at The Granary and cooked up an idea for a quick quilt to welcome the little one to the family.
Some rotary cutting, a few seams and voila! It's a quilt! I'm calling this one Baby Steps for the tiny footprints on the focal fabric. Tonight I'll assemble the quilt and maybe even get to quilting it. We'll see... Kevin got home from his retreat last night and I'm looking forward to an evening at home with him.
Scout posted the other day about UFOs, the knitting kind. It's funny how sometimes these things are in the zeitgeist. I had been thinking about a Flash Your UFOs project that same afternoon. At any rate, it got me to thinking about the volumes of unfinished projects I have tucked into the stash closet. While I haven't yet been brave enough to dig them all out and document them, I have been steadily working on one of my longest standing projects, Mirabilia's Sleeping Beauty. I posted some progress on it back in Jan. 05. Obviously I didn't follow through on my desire to finish it in that year and it's now a full 9 years since I started this project. I did, however, work on her at UFO night last week and several evenings this week and I'm pleased with the progress. I need to do more cross stitching I find it quite satisfying.
