I never thought it would happen. When the Police broke up way back when I gave up any hope of seeing them live. A couple years ago I saw Sting at Shoreline Amphitheater. I figured that was close enough. Seeing Sting live and in person (and on his birthday) was a treat in and of itself. But then they announced the reunion tour. And Kevin just knew that I had to go, so he hit the refresh button on the Ticketmaster website umpteen times until he got in. Kaye and Kevin joined us, while other friends were sprinkled throughout various places in the stadium (Emy, Jua, Britta, Robin, Meg, we waved!).
The show was nothing short of phenomenal! I wasn't sure how much energy I could muster; I was tired all day. The moment they stepped onto the stage I was all teenage girl, screaming, singing and dancing in my seat. The guy behind me later told me that watching me enjoy the concert so much made his night. They played all my favorites and by concert's end I was satisfied that I could tick another major life goal off my list. And Sting is still my secret boyfriend. Even if I have to share with Emy.
