The beach was glorious! We spent a marvelous afternoon on the sand, reading, knitting and napping. It was warmer than expected though and I was actually overdressed in my jeans and t-shirt. I tried to get serious about knitting and brought the Georgia cardi to do some finishing work on, but I just couldn't concentrate, so I defaulted to mindless knitting (can you believe it?) and worked on the Woo sleeve intermittently.
It's about halfway finished and as I'm going to watch The Seven Samurai tonight I'm sure I'll get it finished - the movie's over 3 hours long. The goal is to get this baby done by Thursday to wear on my trip to Minnesota. (by the way, sorry the pics are so washed out - it was bright out there!)
The other, more important goal is to finally finish my sister's birthday quilt (her birthday was in Dec.) so I can bring it with me. It's still in need of a containment border, the final border, sandwiching, quilting and binding.... no small task, to be sure, but since the girls are with their dad this week I will have more time to work on it. I'll post a picture when I have the borders attached.
By the by, I'm an avid movie watcher and I generally see 3-8 movies a week on DVD. I'm planning to keep a running commentary about film in my other blog. Hop on over there for movie discussions and more. For now, I'm off to quilt!
