Last night a small group of friends gathered at Robin and Charles' home. We had a delicious dinner of butternut squash risotto, chilled cucumber soup, carmelized tofu with Brussel sprouts, and cauliflower "rice". It was marvelous. Afterwards, Charles told the story of how they became a couple. It was lovely, and probably the most I've heard Charles speak ever. As the story drew to a close, Robin brought out a cake that said, "Save the Date, Eat the Cake, 05/9/09". I am so excited that my best friend and her man are getting married.
In addition, Jack and Johnathon have set a date to officially get married on November 2nd. They got married before in San Francisco, but that one didn't stick on the law books. This time is for real, though in their hearts it's been real since the beginning.
Happiness abounds.
