Every once in a while at the shop we get a demon skein of yarn. Yesterday a hank of Heavyweight STR decided to rebel in a big way by trying to be a centerpull ball from both sides. The result was a tangled mess. Chloe and I set about tackling it, much to the amusement of certain customers. In the end, all was well and we conquered the skein. Ah, the travails of the yarn shop!
You may notice that I am wearing something unusual on my head. I declared yesterday "Wear Your Tiara To Work Day". The tiara is actually Karin's; it's been sitting on my dash since Britta's Mardi Gras party. The oh-so-shy-but devastatingly-cute FedEx guy told me I looked like a princess, so I guess it worked.
I also got to go on a date with my husband last night. We went for sushi and then saw 300 at the Mercado. I enjoyed it enough to put my sock knitting down about half an hour into it, so I could pay better attention. If you're a fan of graphic novels, you'll appreciate the filmmaking. I loved the lack of color and the graininess and texture. Excellent costumes too!
Off this morning to teach sock class at the shop and then to a baby shower. Hope your Saturday is wonderful!
