I decided to pull out some of my UFOs today just to get a bearing on what I've got unfinished in the queue. I pulled out five sweaters, each of them lacking only sleeves. I found another one lacking only a cuff and a neck. What is my deal? Apparently I have a mental block about finishing, or the lure of the new and shiny overcomes my ability to focus on a project. Yes, I know I could knit the sleeves first, but I don't know that that would help. While the first Butterfly sleeve is going pretty fast (I'm about halfway through with it), I'm feeling my interest wane. It's not helped by the fact that I know I'm going to run out of yarn and I'll have to frog the first back that I knit. I hate frogging Kureyon. And that still doesn't explain why the Shawl Collar Jacket, Garnet, Must Have Cardi and Dew are sleeveless. I think some discipline is in order here. No new sweaters until I get these suckers done. That'll test my resolve for sure.
Meanwhile, I've been designing swag for the Purlescence Cafe Press shop. I've been having a lot if fun with it. It's total instant gratification, because you get to see your design on the object right away. I've got to order one of these shirts to wear for Stitches!
On the camera quest, I've settled on the Cannon S3 IS. It has all the features I was looking for in a price that I can afford. Image stabilization and continuous shooting mode were very important to me, since much of what I photograph is girls on horses jumping over things. I can't tell you how many times I've cursed the slow shutter speed on the Samsung and just missed a perfect shot as the girls ride in a horse show. Hopefully I'll have this beauty in my hands some time next week and then the photo quotient will improve substantially on this little blog o' mine.
